Payments built into the operating platform.
We embed Adyen payment processing directly into merchant onboarding, store operations, reporting, gift cards, and franchise financial workflows — giving your growing restaurant brand one connected view of how money moves through the business.

The merchant account starts inside Crisp.
Payments are not an unrelated processor integration sitting beside your point of sale. We handle merchant onboarding, device supply, store provisioning, and financial reporting through the same platform, using embedded payment processing through Adyen.
- Crisp uses Adyen as its embedded payment-processing partner
- Merchant applications and KYC onboarding are completed through the Crisp portal
- Stores are provisioned into the Crisp merchant and franchise structure as part of onboarding
- Payment devices are supplied through the same supported platform
- The payment relationship connects to Crisp reporting and financial-administration workflows
See the actual processing cost instead of hiding it inside one blended number.
Our standard commercial model is interchange plus plus. It separates the underlying card-network and interchange costs from the processing economics more transparently than a single blended rate. A small number of legacy or specially negotiated customers may use blended pricing, but that is not the standard model.
One reporting note worth stating plainly: we currently show the total processing fee associated with each transaction rather than itemizing interchange, scheme fees, and markup separately in the deposit report.
Compare Processing CostsA blended rate answers one question. Interchange plus plus lets you ask better ones.
Card mix, average ticket, and channel mix all move real processing cost. Our comparison tool uses your own numbers rather than a published headline rate.
What embedded payments actually cover.
Supported devices for the counter, the line, and the lot.
We supply payment hardware through the same supported platform, so the device you use at the counter and the device your employee carries outside belong to one configuration.
- Crisp currently supports the Adyen P630 for countertop payments
- Crisp currently supports the Adyen NYC1 for mobile payments
- The NYC1 uses Bluetooth and suits mobile and outdoor order-taking workflows
- Supported Android devices may accept contactless payments through the device's own NFC capability
- Android tap-to-pay carries an additional per-transaction fee
Countertop and mobile payments

Deposit and transaction reporting
Trace a payout back to the transactions inside it.
Deposit reports live in the Crisp portal alongside the rest of your operating data, so your finance team can review payments by store or across your brand without a separate reporting tool.
- Deposit reports are available inside the Crisp portal
- Each deposit can show the individual transactions included in the payout
- Crisp shows the total processing fee associated with each transaction
- You can inspect processing information by store
- Authorized users can review rollups across several stores or your wider brand
- Reporting may be viewed by processing date or payout date where supported
Stored value and connected methods
Gift cards, credit, and saved cards inside one tender flow.
Stored value belongs to the guest profile rather than to a separate program, so several balances and a payment card can contribute to the same transaction where supported.
- Crisp supports physical and digital gift cards
- Gift-card balances can connect to a guest profile
- Loyalty credit, coupons, multiple gift-card balances, and a payment card can contribute to one transaction where supported
- App authentication can unlock saved payment methods at the point of sale
- Knowing only a phone number does not expose saved cards
Franchise financial infrastructure
The same merchant structure supports brand-level money movement.
Because we provision merchant accounts inside the Crisp franchise structure, royalties, fees, and pooled balances use connected financial infrastructure rather than a separate arrangement.
- Embedded merchant accounts support Crisp's franchise financial workflows
- Crisp can use connected financial infrastructure for ACH-based royalties, brand-development fees, manual transfers, and gift-card pooling
- Your franchisees can receive invoices and view applicable records in the Crisp portal
- Separate corporate accounts may be used for royalties, marketing funds, and gift-card liability
- ACH transfers move between accounts — they do not run through a card terminal
Device details live in Hardware, mobile workflows in Drive-Thru & Line Busting, and stored value in Loyalty & Rewards, Branded Mobile App, and Online Ordering.
Keep raw card data out of the Crisp operating environment.
Our assessed payment architecture can significantly reduce the technical PCI burden you would otherwise manage yourself.
If you use your own network architecture, you may have additional PCI responsibilities for the environment you manage. This is a description of how the architecture works, not compliance advice — your own review still applies.
- Crisp is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant
- Card interactions use Adyen terminals or supported Adyen SDK functionality
- Sensitive payment communication between the terminal or SDK and Adyen is encrypted
- Crisp does not have access to the underlying Adyen encryption keys
- Raw cardholder data is not intended to travel through or be stored in Crisp's general application environment
- Crisp's managed in-store network is included within Crisp's assessed architecture
The payment does not end at approval.
Operations
- Payments complete POS, drive-thru, kiosk, web, and app orders.
- Refunds and transaction activity remain connected to the underlying order where supported.
Guest relationship
- Gift cards, loyalty credit, stored value, coupons, and authenticated saved cards work inside the same customer relationship.
Brand administration
- Deposits, transaction fees, royalties, transfers, invoices, and store access are managed within the wider Crisp structure.
